About

Savvy Career is a blog dedicated to providing information and resources for people who are unemployed, underemployed, or in a career transition.

Who am I:

In 2011 I moved across the country to take a chance on love. When the relationship  didn’t work out, and I moved again to be closer to friends and family, I found myself unexpectedly unemployed for an extended period of time. I thought I was immune from the Great Recession due to having a masters degree and extensive work experience. What I learned is that there are millions of Americans struggling to find jobs, even highly educated Americans. I have become increasingly interested in how others are managing unemployment and coping with the uncertainty of the labor market. My hope is that this blog will allow people to feel not alone and to share success stories as we all try to find our way in this new economy.
